Blizzard's StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void Makes a Bang, Not Last in Series; StarCraft 3, Warcraft 4 Next?

Blizzard's famous RTS game does not end with the StarCraft 2 Legacy of the Void hinting that a StarCraft 3 is in the works. Also, Warcraft 3 isn't finished after its last expansion that was released more than a decade ago, thus, a plan of Warcraft 4 looks promising.

StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void producer Tim Morten said that the expansion that was released earlier this week does not necessary mean the end of StarCraft but the end of this story for these characters, notes Game Spot referring to Morten's interview with IGN in August.

Morten continued to share saying, "It's very rewarding for us to hear that there's demand out there for more RTS content in the Warcraft universe so once we're done with Void I think we'll get together as a team and talk about what would inspire us to work on next. There's no question, though, that we'll consider Warcraft, StarCraft, or even new ideas. Anything is possible."

According to Australia Network News citing the same interview, Morten said that the creation a StarCraft 3 and Warcraft 4 will be based from the response of the fans of the game franchise and they will also decide on which direction they would want the stories of the next games to go.

Despite the huge pool of possibilities for StarCraft 3 and Warcraft 4, Morten said that as of now, their team is focused on the Legacy of the Void that officially kicked off Tuesday that "started with a bang."

Kotaku reported that the release of StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void might have been overshadowed by two huge titles that was released on the same day, Fallout 4 and Tomb Raider. But for the fans of StarCraft, this game is far more important than these two big names.

StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void was launched on November 10 for PC and Mac OS. Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos was launched in 2002 and followed by an expansion pack, The Frozen Throne, in 2003 also both for PC and Mac OS.
