Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain latest patch 1.06 is now live on major consoles bringing new bugs fixes on FOB Missions, Metal Gear Online, and the ability to recruit Quiet.
The latest update for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain which weighs around 670 MB on fixes the save data corruption issue that gave major headache to PS4 players, notes Gear Nuke, showing on its webpage several screenshots. According to the patch notes, the bug corrupts saved data making it unrecoverable "if the electricity of the game was cut under specific conditions and timing".
The new patch also allows players to switch to Metal Gear Online right away from the options menu and the players will not need to go back to the main menu screen. In addition to the bug fixes, Patch 1.06 brought Quiet back which, according to Tech Times, is some sort of a secret because the patch notes did not mention anything about Quiet.
A redditor Brotigan has discovered that one of the game's settings file, however, contains a line of code that reads: "Quiet_Reunion_Mission_Count=3." The line means that the game counts the number of times the players completed the mission entitled "Cloaked in Silence."
After the player has played the mission on the sixth time, the mission's title changes to "[Reunion] Cloaked in Silence." And then after the seventh play, Quiet becomes available including the next missions.
"I feel like a great weight has been lifted from my heart. Bless you Konami for giving us the gift of love once again," added Tech Times quoting redditor YMCAle.
Another redditor was quoted who exclaimed, "Hooooly s**t. Now I can finally actually play mission 45, and customize a cool emblem that doesn't have that damn butterfly on it!"
In the early part of the campaign, Quiet's character prematurely exited the game and unavailable whenever players needed assistance which appears to be an emotional loss for players. Her return gave back some joy and fun for players.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is available for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC/Steam since September 1st this year.
