HP Zbook Studio to rival Apple Macbook Pro 2016; Shipping starts December, puts 'the sexy' back in workstations

HP has recently launched its new ZBook Studio in New York which will put the sexy back in workstations. This new HP device also attempts to oppose the powerful machines like Apple's MacBook Pro.

According to Digital Arts, the new HP's ZBook Studio is presented as the company's thinnest, lightest pro-grade laptop that comes with a quad-core processor. This latest laptop from HP will also put a rivalry with Apple's MacBook Pro and Dell's Precision 5510 that are yet to be released.

The Zbook Studio bears an all-black design weighing 1.99 kilograms (4.6 lbs) and measuring 375 x 255 x 18mm, thus, it's a bit bigger than the MacBook Pro that arrives in 15-inch size. Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB 3.0 ports (with one powered), one HDMI 1.4 port, and ethernet port were reported to be found on the side of the small body which is considered uncommon for this kind of thin laptop, writes Parent Herald.

Moreover, it is said that the Zbook Studio could probably include either a Xeon server-class E3 chip with ECC RAM or an Intel Core i7 (that clocks up to 2.7GHz) with normal RAM. Its memory can reportedly be expanded up to a powerful 32GB of RAM; one report has even stated that this can be upgraded up to 64GB of RAM, too.

In addition, a maximum of 2TB of internal storage will be included in the new Zbook. If users prefer to acquire more storage beyond that, a separate dock with a Thunderbolt 3 port can also be purchased from the company in order to add extra storage drives easily.

Furthermore, a report from Arstechnica cites that the display of this new HP Zbook Studio can be customized with FHD, UHD, or 4K resolutions. Since HP has not completely incorporated its DreamColor technology into the 4K display, then a user will acquire all eight million colors DreamColor displays if the 4K option will be opted.

In December, the HP Zbook Studio will start shipping at a price tag of $1,699. New and cheaper laptops such as Zbook 15 and 17 will also be released aside from the Zbook Studio.
