The Android Wear gets an update for the device that brings a number of support watch gestures and some user experience modifications. The update also foreshadows a future audio enhancement for the devices carrying the wearable operating system.
The updated features are turned on automatically by default, but wearables running on Android Watch can double check by waking the watch face with a touch. To go to setttings, users can swipe through until the card for settings come out and then tapping on Wrist Gestures.
According to EN Gadget, the 1.4 update carries along with it a ton of new wrist gestures, such as taking actions on cards by pushing the arm carrying it down or returning to watch face by shaking the wrist. These new gestures become helpful when the wearers hands are full, and beats having to drop everything to flick through cards.
Phone Arena reports other gestures, such as scrolling through cards by moving the device away or towards the user.
The update also comes with a 'secret' feature found in its system file that reveals support for watches with a speaker, according to WT Vox. This brings to further light speculations of Android Wear gadgets armed with audio capabilities.
The Huawei Watch and LG Watch Urbane Second Edition are now equipped with speakers and will probably be benefitting from the audio settings which will come to Android Watch in the near future. This also foreshadows the possibility of making calls and playing music on the gadget very soon.
The settings also come with a tutorial that goes through the new gestures. It's also good for Watch users to remember that the new gestures on the wearable will also drain the battery faster when they are on. However, the update also does come with improvements on the battery life of the devices that run the OS.
Android Wear was only launched in March last year, and has already seen a number of updates since it first came out.
