In the latest update on Marvel's hit comic book TV series Daredevil, the show's official Twitter account posted a video of what could be expected when the second season premieres 2016 on Netflix. It shows a neon sign that read Luke's, speculating rumors that Luke Cage might appear in the show.
The new teaser video showed Josie's sign in bright neon orange. The camera panned to the right and showed the words "Welcome to Hell's Kitchen. Pick your poison" before a bright yellow-lit sign of Luke's appeared.
According to Collider, this could just be a bit of cross-promotion between Netflix shows, but the fact that the teaser debuted on the Daredevil twitter rather than the official Luke Cage account indicates there will be some crossover.
Luke Cage (Mike Colter) will make his debut on Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) as well as having his own show. Rosario Dawson will also reprise her role as Daredevil's Night Nurse on Jessica Jones, which many speculates will create an avenue for Matt Murdock to appear in the show. Both Jones and Murdock live in Hell's Kitchen.
In addition, the text of "pick your poison" almost seems to suggest that Daredevil and the man with the bulletproof skin are going to be at odds in the new season, according to Outer Space. It makes some sense for Marvel's TV heroes to kind of be at odds with one another before joining up for The Defenders, and a hostile Daredevil/Luke Cage relationship could be a good way to start that process.
In Daredevil season one, Josie's was a favorite Hell's Kitchen bar of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), his partner Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and it was noted that the city tried to shut down Josie's but the trio helped keep the bar afloat. According to Movieweb, the trailer reveals that the neon sign has now changed from Josie's to Luke's, teasing that Luke Cage may have bought the bar. It is also possible that his ownership on the bar will be revealed in Jessica Jones.
Daredevil Season 2 will premiere on 2016.
