Gun Media and Illfonic's Friday the 13th The Game is all but unlucky for the past week, as the main goal of the title was recently achieved flawlessly. The game adaptation of the iconic serial killer flick was an idea for the longest time, and now that the installment is ready to go, fans can rest assured-maybe not peacefully, that their favorite hockey mask horror franchise is well on the way.

According to iDigital Times, the recently concluded Friday the 13th The Game Kickstarter campaign has definitely went beyond its mark, after going $100,000 beyond the goal crowd-funding budget. In specification, the original $700,000 crowd-funding objective of Gun Media and Illfonic reached a total of $823,704, which was supported by 12,218 backers.

As delivered by PlayStation Lifestyle, whether it may be an unintentional or purposively created, the Kickstarter campaign for Friday the 13th The Game ended last November 13th which was also a Friday the 13th. That being said, details of the crowd-funding said that it also reached $725,000 for the Mirror Kill, a 3D Head Crush wherein the eyeball pops out of the skull for $750,000 and a Rip Your Heart Out Kill for $775,000. Though all of the abovementioned credentials were satisfactory, it did not meet the goal of $1.625 million for the single-player campaign mode, but states that the company may still accept funding even after the Kickstarter.

To go further in details, Game Spot delivered that Friday the 13th The Game may slightly be contrary to the expectation of some in terms of what the title is supposed to be. It is basically a multiplayer role-playing game, wherein one player will take on the role of Jason Vorhees, Camp Crystal Lake's notorious murderer, while seven other gamers will take control of various jocks and nerds as they attempt to survive Jason Vorhees;' killing spree.

It is an apparent fact that Sean Cunningham, the original creator of the film, fully supported the project, as well as the man behind the mask, Kane Hodder, who gave life to Jason Vorhees in the past Friday the 13th films. Friday the 13th The Game is set to hit the stores by fall of 2016.
