Filming is in full swing for Marvel's Doctor Strange with its cast and crew's recent move to a studio in London from previous location in Nepal. Meanwhile, martial artist Scott Adkins was also added to the cast in currenlty unconfirmed role.
The first look at Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange was recently revealed during their filming in Nepal. As reported by Independent, several photos have made their rounds online showing a bearded Cumberbatch wearing long dark blue coat while Chiwetel Ejiofor who is set to pay as Baron Mordo was also seen wearing a green coat.
The scenes filmed in Nepal were believed to be the origin of Dr. Strange during the time when he turned to magic and sought for the Ancient One to help him heal his hands. However, as reported by Screen Rant, set photos might soon be scarce since filming has been moved to the UK. Filming in United Kingdom will largely be done in Longcross FIlm Studios, although a couple of outdoor scenes is also possible.
Cumberbatch, and Ejiofor are some of the project's star studded cast which also includes Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West. Moreover, according to The Wrap an insider close to the project revealed that The Expendables star Scott Adkins was also casted for a currently undisclosed character.
Although Adkin's casting has not been confirmed yet as Marvel and the actor's representatives haven't commented yet, the source suggest that the actor will have several hand to hand combat scenes. Aside from Adkins, Rachel McAdams and Amy Landecker are also on board the project in currently unknown roles.
Doctor Strange centers on an arrogant surgeon, Dr. Stephen Strange who loses the work of his hands in a horrible accident causing him to lose his career. He later goes on a search for healing around the world and later turns to magic and trains under the Ancient One, who turns him into a sorcerer who will defend the world from supernatural threats.
Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson from screenplay written by Thomas Dean Donnelly, Joshua Oppenheimer, and Jon Spaihts. It is slated for a November 04, 2016 release.
