'Once Upon A Time' Season 5 Update: Co-Creators creating horror series for ABC Family; Greg Germann and 2 More Join Cast

Once Upon A Time co-creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis have a new horror series to offer their millions of followers. ABC Family has ordered their new project, “Dead of Summer”, to series last week. Meanwhile, the hit fantasy series has added three new actors to board its current fifth season including: Greg Germann, Jonathan Whiteshell and Kacey Rohl.

Dead of Summer, an exciting horror TV series is coming to ABC Family soon. Co-created by Once Upon A Time bosses, Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, the new show is set during the late 1980s inside the fictional Camp Clearwater.

ABC Family (soon to be called “Freeform” in 2016) has described Kitsis and Horowitz’ latest TV offering as “part coming-of-age story” and “part supernatural horror story”.

“Dead of Summer is a bold, new series that mixes genres as it examines the light and dark of a summer like no other,” the cable network has shared. Entertainment Weekly has reported the news.

In other Once Upon A Time news, the show has added Greg Germann, Jonathan Whiteshell and Kacey Rohl to its slew of season five guest stars.

Greg Germann, known for his role on Ally Mcbeal, has been tapped to play the character of “The Distinguished Gentleman”, TV Line reports. He will be appearing on Once at a recurring basis in season five.

Germann’s mysterious character is also described as someone with god-like powers who will be seen wearing a perfectly tailored suit. What’s more, he’s someone who can ignite fear just by being friendly with people.

Viewers should expect him to appear on the show’s 100th episode slated to air sometime in March.
Jonathan Whiteshell and Kacey Kohl, meanwhile, will be portraying Hercules and Meg – respectively in episode 13 this season titled “Labor of Love”. TV Line also reported the casting intel.

So far, the actors are only booked for one episode.
