Days before the awaited crossover of Arrow and The Flash, co-showrunner Wendy Mericle debunked the ongoing theory that Felicity’s father is Damien Darhk. In other developments, the superhero drama has booked actor Colton Haynes to return in an upcoming season four episode.
Despite of the online chatter that new Big Bag Damien Darhk might be closely related to Felicity Smoak, Wendy Mericle finally shut down this theory in a recent report, confirming that Arrow is not “taking that direction”.
“We are actually figuring out Felicity’s father as we speak. It’s not going to be tied to H.I.V.E,” the executive producer commented about Felicity’s yet to be known father.
Adds Mericle: The revelation of this storyline is going to be written as something “more personal, emotional” that “speaks directly to her story”. Viewers should be forewarned that Arrow has plotted this arc as a bombshell which will become a “big reveal” between Smoak and Oliver later this season.

As for the show’s casting news, it has been learned by TV Line that actor Colton Haynes will reprise his role as Roy Harper this season. Although details on his return are still under wraps, executive producer Marc Guggenheim has shared that they are “beyond thrilled” that Colton will be returning.
“It was always our intention to have him return following his departure last season, but it was a matter of finding the right storyline to pull it off,” Guggenheim added.
Colton Haynes’ Roy Harper is set to return in episode 12 of season 4, according to Guggenheim.
Next Wednesday’s episode will mark the show’s crossover with The Flash. Titled “Legends of Yesterday”, the Dec. 2nd installment will find Oliver and Barry teaming-up as they take Kendra Saunders and Carter Hall (aka Hawkgirl and Hawkman) to a remote location to protect them from Legends of Tomorrow baddie, Vandal Savage (Casper Crump). The second part of the crossover will take viewers behind Arrow and The Flash’ strategy as they figure out how to defeat Savage.
