It would seem that the storyline will change for Vikings season 4. Alexander Ludwig recently posted a picture on social media and it looks like he is going for a much bigger role next season. Meanwhile, Ragnar returns from a siege in Paris with a new girl.
In the official Instagram account of the hit TV series, Alexander Ludwig took a selfie in costume as Bjorn and sporting a gray beard which is far from his youthful looks. The look is also exactly like Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel). He also posted a caption that said "Back in action #Vikings".
According to Christian Today, there have been speculations that Bjorn will be the one to lead the people of Denmark. Aside from that, he will also don a new role as a father. This massive time jump was actually revealed by show creator Michael Hirst back in July during the San Diego Comic-Con, however Hirst did not say how much time will pass. But with Bjorn having a more mature look in the coming season, speculations arise on whether he will be succeeding his father as the new King of Denmark by appointment or by force.
Meanwhile, the fourth season will also show Rollo's new life as the husband of King Charles' daughter. It was in the last episodes of season 3 that showed Rollo betraying his brother Ragnar for a hand in marriage. Bjorn is not very forgiving of Rollo after what happened to his father and a possibility of a feud between the two will show next season.
In another story, Ragnar will not leave the show abruptly in the next season. Although it has been confirmed that he will leave the show to focus on a movie, Crossmap reports that Ragnar will have a new love interest in the Chinese slave, Yidu.
Vikings will premiere in 2016.
