T-Mobile is issuing Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its subscribers, especially those who have Nexus 6. This was after a successful and rigorous testing of the new software version in the network. The U.S. carrier mentioned in its official statement that the roll out just started on November 20.
Yibada mentioned in its report, that Nexus 6 users will see MRA58X as the new Android build number once their handsets have been updated. With the usual software update process, users will have to wait for the over-the-air message to pop up on their notification panel. Though, users can always check their devices for manual updates through the settings of the phone.
Before the installation, some requirements are needed for successful update. According to Android Police, the phone should have at least 50% or higher battery life and an available space of 698MB. Further, the phone should also be connected to a stable internet connection. The update brings control over app permissions, fingerprint support, Android Pay, enhanced battery life through Doze technology, and redesigned app drawer.
On the other hand, Android Authority said that the new update was supposed to be available last October, but the issuance was delayed due to the discovery of a major bug. Thereby, the U.S. telco decided to wait and finish a fresh OS build. Nonetheless, the report added that T-Mobile will gradually send OTA to other phone models soon. Android 6.0 Marshmallow was officially announced to replace Android 5.1.1 Lollipop at the end of September.
T-Mobile subscribers can contact their customer support or go to its retail store for more inquiries regarding the new update. Subscribers can also get in touch to the carrier if they would like to know when the other phone models will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
