The new Opera Max version that has been announced by Google, it offers a new feature for music enthusiasts. It has the ability to stay on the app while keeping lesser data. In this regard, YouTube Music, Pandora, Slacker, Gaana and Saavn are the available services that can take advantage of the app.

Android Central mentioned that subscribers of the Opera Max can save up to 50% of data. The technology that works behind this new feature is through optimization that is powered by Rocket. It manages streaming audio traffic and converts the streams to AAC+ codec from MP3 and MP4. Thereby, it delivers a low bitrate connection.

Further, Sergey Lossev, Product Manager at Opera Software, said in the related report, "More and more people love listening to their favorite music with apps; however, these apps are among the major data hogs consuming users' mobile data quickly." The manager also emphasized in his statement that users will not have to constantly look for available free Wi-Fi coverage anymore, due to the app's limited data usage. As such, users have now more capability in keeping track of their data usage over both cellular and Wi-Fi.

On the other hand, Phone Arena noted that listening to music or an online radio station consumes 1GB of data for just nine hours. With the new update, this is going to be a relief for music enthusiasts, especially those who have limited or capped data. As Android Headlines said in its report, this is a great move in helping users cut back data usage by assisting them in managing it. Nevertheless, the report added that subscribers can look forward to the additional apps of Opera Max aside from the ones that were mentioned.

For subscribers who have not yet downloaded Opera Max, they can just go to Google Play store. Also, for those who have the old version, they can just update it to the new one.
