It would've been a good friendship story. But they're both romantically involved with country singer, Blake Shelton.
Miranda Lambert, ex-wife of Shelton, is all cool about her ex finding romance with fellow divorcee and Voice coach, Gwen Stefani. Rumor has it that if it Lambert is not connected with Stefani in a rather awkward relationship, they could've been good friends.
In a report by Hollywood Life, a source from Lambert's side claimed that the "Over You" singer was very touched with Stefani's performance of "Used to Love You" during the 2015 American Music Awards.
"Despite the fact that Gwen is dating her ex-husband, Miranda has always been a fan of her music. She can totally relate to her new song." An insider disclosed to Hollywood Life exclusively. "She can sympathize with Gwen with regard to the words in I Used To Love You."
It's definitely true that the song "Used to Love You" could've been a good bond between the "could've-been-friends," Lambert and Stefani, both having to experience failed marriages. If only the "Spark the Fire" songstress wasn't with the guy involved in Lambert's divorce.
Meanwhile, it looks like Lambert got to appreciate the song more as she didn't have to suffer from an awkward encounter with ex-partner, Shelton.
A lot of reports point out that the "Sangria" singer preferred to stay at home and enjoyed streaming the event. Reportedly, he didn't attend the ceremony in an effort to give all the limelight to his girlfriend's performance. He supposedly did not want to have the cameras hovering on his reactions during Gwen's song which will not fit the mood of it all. Another allegation states that he didn't want to run into Lambert, vice versa, so it was ultimately a good decision for him to stay home.
Still, Shelton made sure to publicize his support for Gwen by tweeting: "Prepare for greatness..#AmericanMusicAwards," right before the latter went up on stage.
Stay tuned for more of this love triangle drama.
