As the end of the year inches closer, gamers continue to anticipate the official announcement of the Nintendo NX. 2016 was set to be the time that Nintendo will finally break the silence about the latest gaming console by the company.
Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, previously stated that the company would keep silent until 2016 comes, says Cross Map. As of today, all information that has come out about the upcoming Nintendo NX are unofficial, no information came from any company spokesperson or personnel. Yet that doesn't mean that gamers will have to be kept in the dark about the new console until next year.
A pair of patents registered by the company indicates two functions that users can expect from the new NX. The first patent involves a sharing system that will allow users to share achievements with one another, according to Tech Times. It is also rumoured that the sharing system will include video recording capabilities to capture how the achievement was unlocked.
The second patent involves the controller, which gives users insight into what the controller of the NX will look like and how it will function. NEO Gaf first spotted the patent describing an operation apparatus with a big screen in the middle of the controller and flanked by two joysticks.
It is also strongly believed that the Nintendo NX will be powered by an AMD chipset. Two models are being speculated for the Nintendo NX, one x86 and another ARM.
The Nintendo NX attempts to follow up a not-so-successful run by the Nintendo Wii U, which failed to reach sales and performance expectations of both the company and users. With the earlier coming of the NX, which wasn't supposed to come out until 2017 to give the Wii U more exposure time, Xbox One and Playstation 4 might be seeing a third player come into the mix early on.
