‘Call of Duty Black Ops 3’ Off the Japanese Charts With PS4

By

Even after a couple of weeks after the game's release, Sony's PS4 platform has proven to be the best platform for the first person shooter, Call of Duty Black Ops 3. Accordingly, the numbers and the chart rankings has spoken for the platform.

Generally, first person shooters do not typically top the Japanese software; however, the PS4 platform of Call of Duty Black Ops 3 has proven otherwise. Destructoid reports that the game has topped the Japanese software releases barely two weeks after its release. The game has already sold 187, 446 units on PS4 consoles since November 6 while having additional 32, 022 copies released for the PS3. COD BO3 ranked as the top selling games for PS4 and PS3 platforms, as to the chart released by Media Create. The game even outsold games such as Project X Zone 2, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, and Need for Speed. These numbers provide an interesting phenomenon on how a country's platform reference has changed over the past years. To date, PS4 now proved to be the leading platform despite its initial struggle in Japanese stores in its early times.

According to Lazygamer's analysis, PS4 manages to have its advantage in its campaign with its constant high resolution of 1080p. The site further commented that the more aggressive dynamic frame buffer implementation provided a serious impact on the image quality of games which proved that PS4 comes out ahead on basis at providing higher resolution. Furthermore, PS4 has the advantage of receiving the game's DLC content ahead of the competing consoles. To conclude, the site opined that PS4 offered the best Call of Duty Black Ops 3 experience without having to spend much on hardware.

On the other hand, the chart released by Japan's Media Create provided a bad news for the Xbox consoles. Unfortunately, Call of Duty Black Ops 3 sales for Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles in Japan provides a rather negative result as compared to its PS4 and PS3 counterparts. Gaming Bolt reports that the game has yielded an unimpressive sale of only 2,000 copies; however, the Advanced Warfare proved to have worse numbers as it has only rendered 6,000 copies up to date since its Japanese release.

Call of Duty Black Ops III is now available for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC platforms. Since its opening weekend, the game has already gained over 550 million USD in sales worldwide.
