According to the official Final Fantasy XV Twitter account, the pre-beta build of FFXV has been completed last November 10. The announcement was made by director Hajime Tabata. He also announced the inclusion of Moogles in the game.
Tabata apologized for the complete silence saying that he requested PR and publicity to keep quiet on information to help them focus on the early development.
After six months of silence, Tabata and his team are seemingly more than eager to answer fan questions. According to RPG Fan the development team of XV, and Tabata himself, has been active on Twitter and on their official forum.
Techno Buffalo reported that previously, Tabata and his team were criticized by fans for not updating at all. "Tabata faced a little criticism over how slowly his updates were explaining actual progress of the game, but my guess is now that he has the solid foundation all laid out, we’ll be seeing a lot more over the next year. Take this lovely little tidbit for example! Remember how he polled fans last week, asking if they wanted Moogles in Final Fantasy XV? Well, the man listened!"
And listened he did as Tabata deliberately spilled information here and there. In the same official XV Twitter account, the director said that he will think of a fun little way to feature Moogles in FFXV. However, he also said that he will find a balance to lessen extra development work on this. His focus is just to make the appearance of Moogles as a fun little extra.
Final Fantasy XV is an ambitious project for Square Enix. While most Final Fantasies were usually on-rails and turn-based RPG's, XV will be in an open-world environment and will be action-based in the vein of Type-O and Kingdom Hearts.
Final Fantasy XV will ship in 2016 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There is currently a Final Fantasy XV Duscae available for download to users who have purchased the Day One Edition of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.
