Yu Yutopia Campaign for Camera a Flop?

By

YU Televentures, the online-only sub-brand of Micromax, has revealed their latest flagship handset - the Yu Yutopia after several digs at company rivals Apple and OnePlus.

Micromax handed one of the unreleased Yutopia devices to famous photographer, Sundeep Gajjar, last week to give a glimpse of the device's camera specs and functions in a campaign to showcase photos taken with the Yutopia. As stellar as the images are, followers will be disappointed to know that the photos posted by Gajjar from the Yutopia are not raw, but edited with Snapseed, reports International Business Times India Edition.

The Yutopia is said to sport a 5.2-inch display and will run on 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset with 4GB of RAM. The camera is a high 21 megapixels on the rear end camera and the front end camera will have 8 megapixels. It has also been hinted by various reports that the handset will have a Quad HD screen, 32GB inbuilt storage, Quick Charging and Bigger battery. Although, no official publication by Yu Televentures has been released to confirm this.

Yu is planning to launch the Yutopia by next month, says MakTech Blog, pushing back the expected launch date which was assumed to be some time this month, and will roll out primarily in India. The price of the handset will be around Rs. 25,000 at launch.

Yu is dubbing the Yutopia as the 'world's fastest phone' and will come in a metal frame, reports India Today. The smartphone will operate on a CyanogenMod 12 operating system based on Android firmware.

In other news, Yu is also coming up with another smartphone named the Yu Yuphoria (Yu6000), which is said to be the successor of the Yu Yuphoria that is currently available in the market. The rumoured predecessor will carry a 4.6-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display and an octa-core MediaTek (MT6753) processor with 3GB of RAM. The rear end camera will carry a 13 megapixel capacity and the front end an 8 megapixel capacity.
