Mirror's Edge Catalyst has not ceased to become an interest to many since its announcement. That being said, the most important question about the franchise has been addressed by EA and DICE-that is until a recent change came about.
It was reported by PC Gamer that the supposed prequel to the classic Mirror's Edge title, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, was already given a solid launch date for next year-and because of it, fans have clamored over and over for further news on the game. Originally set to be in the market by February 23rd, 2016, Mirror's Edge Catalyst was cordially moved to a later launch date around four months later, namely May 24th, 2016.
According to The Verge, Mirror's Edge Catalyst has harvested multiple positive feedback over the past, especially with the fixation of a release date which does not come often among upcoming titles. In this particular case, however, fans may need to put the expectations on hold, as the Senior Producer of the game Sara Jansson claimed that the development team may need the few extra months to make sure that Mirror's Edge Catalyst not only meets the standards of the first, but to further improve the title as well.
As IGN delivered, the Mirror's Edge Catalyst plot revolves mainly around the back story of Faith, which fans have contradictory thoughts over. The wish for a continuity may not have been granted, but the promise of a drastically improved surrounding, detailing, a more open-world feel and less violence may just do the trick in making the parkour-oriented title another triumphant product to await for.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst's delay in launch is something that not all fans may like, but will prove necessary in the welfare of the Mirror's Edge series. It may not be the last yet, but as some believe, the continuation of a classic may play a significant role in the entirety of one saga. Stay posted for more updates on EA and DICE's open world masterpiece.
