DOOM Confirmed as Reboot, New Features Discussed; Release Date Expected Within 2016

By

The upcoming DOOM title is currently one of Bethesda's contenders for the top spot of the best first-person shooters of the generation. Given that the title is still being worked on, fans of the franchise are still open to receive information from the high-caliber title whether they are to be taken as a grain of salt, or straight-up information.

According to Movie Pilot, Bethesda dubbed the upcoming title as Doom 4, whereas after, it converted to a more recognized DOOM. Though the expansion may have the original label of being the fourth installment in the entire franchise, Bethesda clarified that this particular title is a reboot but not a remake, continuity or prequel.

As delivered by Youth Health Mag, it was not entirely an easy journey headed to where the game actually is, given that it was once scrapped and rebooted to how it is now. Contrary to what others may believe that the franchise is to become, the title is considerably a much more improved rendition compared to others, with a more realistic, yet brutal approach.

Noted by Realty Today, after the Closed Alpha announcement, gamers have gone hungry over new in-game details for the title, and Bethesda has been generous with showing what the game has in store. Gamers will have their hands full with the 6-on-6 Team Deathmatch feature that brings in the violence and gore that the Doom series is frankly known for. The most recognized feature added to the series will be the ability for players to turn into a demon and sustain it for a period, which gives the players a more interesting twist for the all-out brawl.

DOOM is still to receive a release date but the closest to hold on to would be that the title is expected within 2016. Bethesda looks to continue the legacy of the man-versus-monster first person shooter that many have gone to love over the years, and with the next-generation benefits of today, the game is surely one to look forward to.
