An actor is set to reprise his deceased character in "Mr. Robot" Season 2, however, his appearance might only be in the means of flashbacks. On the other hand, the executive producer of the show remained silent about spoiling his own storyline. He further stated that there's no need to reveal some details about the upcoming season because the ratings are already high.

Christian Slater is set to reprise his deceased character in "Mr. Robot" Season 2. Slashfilm reports that Slater will come back to play the character of Edward Alderson, Elliot's (Rami Malek) father. However, it has also been reported that Slater's appearance could only be flashbacks of his son's alter ego.
Meanwhile, executive producer Sam Esmail revealed some updates about the development of "Mr. Robot" during its cross guild event in Los Angeles. According to Deadline, Esmail announced that the creative and production team already began working on how season 2 will come about. However, Esmail did not give any potential spoilers.
Speaking of spilling some spoilers, Esmail stated why he opt to remain mum about it. HNGN has mentioned that the executive producer is not ready to play spoiler for his own show especially now that the season premiere has been hailed as being the top rated show this 2015.
As of now, the official scheduled launch for "Mr. Robot" Season 2 has not yet been announced. However, speculations suggest that the show is slated to return anytime soon in 2016.
