Xiaomi recently unveiled the successor of the well-known MiPad. The Xiaomi MiPad 2 has been released into the market together with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 during the November 24 event of the Chinese tech giant. The device's specification, features and price were also detailed on the freshly occurred occassion.
According to Tech Times, the Xiaomi MiPad 2 has the same screen size of Apple's comparable tablet at 7.9 inches with 2048 by 1536 pixel resolution. It has a full metal body, weighing in at 322 grams and is 6.95 mm thick. This device is 38 grams lighter and 18 percent slimmer than its plastic-bodied predecessor.
Furthermore, Daily News & Analysis added other features that are present to the Xiaomi MiPad 2. This device is engineered with a 64-bit quad core 2.24GHz Intel Atom X5-Z8500 processor, an Intel HD Graphics GPU and 2 GB of RAM. When it comes to the camera, it integrates an 8 -megapixel rear-facing snapper and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.
To enable easier reading, the MiPad 2 features a special mode that cuts down blue light emanating from the screen, which basically eases eye strain during long-term viewing. Just like the Redmi Note 3, this device is also based on the new, orientation-free USB Type-C plug.
As for the Xiaomi MiPAd 2's price, Stuff stated that the 16 GB variant will be priced at RMB999 (US$155). Meanwhile, the 64 GB version might be tagged at RMB1299 (US$200). It will be available in two color options: Dark grey and Champagne Gold.
With the Xiaomi MiPad 2 becoming available in the market this tablet will surely create a great competition with its rivals from other manufacturers.
