A new actress has been added to the cast of Marvel's "Luke Cage" to play as the mother to Claire Temple. With that being said, the head of Marvel Television praised the producer's decision of choosing the right actress. Also, the lead star of the show has discussed regarding the spin-off series.
Sonia Braga officially joins Marvel's "Luke Cage" tv series to play the role of Soledad Temple. With that being said, Jeph Loeb head of Marvel TV praised the producers' decision of choosing the said actress. On the other hand, Mike Colter talked about the upcoming spin-off.
Braga has been announced to join Marvel's "Luke Cage" and according to Deadline, Braga will be portraying the character Soledad Temple, the mother of Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson). Marvel Entertainment announced Braga's casting on Twitter last November 25, 2015. However, as of now, no official statement has been released if Braga's character will make an appearance in the future episodes of "Daredevil" and "Jessica Jones".
Speaking of Claire's mother, Jeph Loeb the head of Marvel Television shared his thoughts about adding Sonia Braga as a cast member. Loeb stated that the 65-year-old Brazilian actress is a perfect fit to deliver the powerful performance that the show needs as cited by Coming Soon.
Other than that, Mike Colter (who will play the role of Luke Cage) talked to TV Guide about the Luke Cage spin-off. Colter stated, "He moves up to Harlem... and it's going to change the dynamic completely. It'll be a different feel, a different energy. We know the long story is that he becomes a hero for hire, but what's the journey and how does that come about? So, that process is what we're going to discover as we start the Luke Cage series."
Marvel's "Luke Cage" is set to premiere anytime soon in 2016 exclusively on Netflix. "Luke Cage" is a fictional superhero in Marvel Comics created by Archie Goodwin and John Romita, Sr.
