Great news to all Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus subscribers! Microsoft announced recently that they will be offering five free games this December as part of their Games with Gold program. Players can now enjoy two new games on Xbox One and three more on Xbox 360.
NeocoreGames' The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, which is regularly priced at $14.99, will be free the entire month of December on Xbox One. According to Cheat Sheet, there's plenty of comfort that can be found in the game's well-laid fundamentals.
Eidos Montreal's franchise reboot, Thief, which is priced regularly at $29.99, will also be free from December 16 to January 15, reported Polygon. For the first half of December, Xbox 360-Gold subscribers will be able to download Zen Studios' CastleStorm for free, which will be replaced by Keen Games' Sacred 3, for the second half of December. CastleStorm and Sacred 3 are regularly priced at $9.99 and $19.99, respectively.
As an extra gift for the holidays, fans will also have the chance to download Codemasters' Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (reg. $9.99) for free from December 16 to 31. Microsoft has announced that at this point, all 360 games released through Games with Gold will be backwards-compatible on Xbox One. Sacred 3 is the only game that's not on the current list of supported games, which means, it should be added in the future.
According to a statement by Microsoft, Xbox Live Gold subscribers have saved over $1,000 with Games with Gold on Xbox One and Xbox 360, in 2015 alone. "It's only getting better in 2016 now that Xbox One members get double the free games every month with Backward Compatibility. With Xbox One Backward Compatibility, play multiplayer with your friends no matter which console they're on and enjoy Xbox 360 games with the advanced features of your Xbox One, including Game DVR, Screenshots, and in-home streaming to Windows 10 ," quoted Express.
Titles are available as free downloads for qualifying Xbox Live Gold subscribers in all markets where Xbox Live is available. Other regions may offer different titles depending on their market availability.
