Psyonix' vehicular football video game, Rocket League shall further be updated to add free contents to its PS4 and PC versions. Such free contents in collaboration with Valve, are reported to be themed after the strategy game Portal. Furthermore, the game's winter event, Snow Day, was announced for release.
These Portal-themed DLCs are scheduled for release on the PS4 and PC versions starting December 1. VG 24/7 reports that owners of the full game shall receive a set of gears, including a Cake themed Topper; Rocket Trails such as Conversion Gel, Propulsion Gel, and Repulsion Gel; and Antennas which include Aperture Laboratories theme, Cake Sticker, Companion Cube, Personality Core, and PotatOS. These items can be found in the end of every match drop, regardless of whether a player wins or loses.
The Portal crossover with the quirky hybrid game of racing, football, and shooter of Rocket League, as explained by The Escapist, will not necessarily serve as a reward system for every game played. Instead, a player would have a chance to obtain new items whenever a match has been completed whatever the result of the game is. It meant that such items may or may not be awarded, as these are randomly given to players by chance. All items are completely free, on the other hand.
On another news, Psyonix revealed that Rocket League shall be holding its Winter Games Event starting December 14, along with new items. Jeremy Dunham, Psyonix Vice President for Marketing announced in a blog that Snow Day shall arrive in Rocket League on the said date. Such was initially announced to be the hockey-inspired Mutator Mode which would replace the Mutator Mashup online playlist. The Snow Day will feature an ice-themed field with a heavy disc-shaped puck. Furthermore, adding to the excitement are the new Garage items to be available starting December 14. Winter Game items, as reported by Latin Post, are only available for a limited time which can be unlocked through participation in matches.
The Portal-themed downloadable contents for Psyonix' vehicular football game, Rocket League, may be available at random starting on December 1. On the other hand, Snow Day, the game's winter games event mode may be unlocked starting on December 14, for a limited time.
