XCOM 2 Arrives on PC February 2016 ; Small Town Images Seen, Environment To Bring New Feel

As XCOM 2 is anticipated by many, some features of the title are bound to be discussed and worth looking at. Any game has a prerequisite of a good rendition in terms of environment, and Firaxis' upcoming expansion is ready to show what it's got.

According to iDigital Times, new images of the turn-based XCOM 2 has stormed the internet, and as some fans may have expected a new character or updates for the weaponry, Firaxis chose to showcase the title's surroundings--namely the Small Town areas. Generally, the said location is somewhat a sanctuary wherein the characters that have not given in to the promises of the City Centers stay in, seeking the refuge of the world they once knew.

It was noted by Game Spot that Firaxis explained the direct motive behind creating the said locations in their blog, and was quoted, "Small Town settings are suburban settlements just outside of the sprawling Advent City Centers and are best described as havens for folks looking to live like they did before the arrival of the aliens. XCOM's goal is to protect these people by going after Advent here. Crumbling churches and quaint diners offer citizens a taste of the freedom they once had. These Small Towns also offer XCOM a stark reminder of what we're all fighting for: our home."

WCCF Tech delivered that in the images displayed online, the towns basically have dispersed billboards all over, together with multiple patrolling soldiers that work for Advent. As simple as it may look, the location opens a whole new direction for the gamers to still feel a little bit sheltered, even around an atmosphere that spells total action.

Firaxis' XCOM was announced in June, given a scheduled release date for the PC within February 2016. Console users are advised to stay patient for the time being as no news about its creation has been known to emerge yet for the time being. Stay updated on Firaxis' adventurous expansion that is yet to surface.
