Diablo III Easter Egg Found in Patch 2.4; Fans Sort Out Whether Intentional or Coincidental

By

Diablo III has consistently promised updates and patches, and so far, it has delivered relentlessly with ease. As these updates are for the fans, relative companies are also in on the prowess that Blizzard's long-running title has to offer-and they express the admiration in ways that are rather subtle to the naked eye.

It was reported by Yibada that Diablo III has undergone through a number of patches over the months and years that it has been around, bluntly to make the game as close to perfect as possible. Along the way, as seen on the Patch 2.4, a declarative Easter Egg was spotted by some fans-specifically those that have also been loyal to the Fallout series.

Given that it is not really so often that Diablo III will host hints about other games, as per VG247, the recent discovery was one that struck the fans' interest and was admired for the great but not too subtle concealment. An item known as Boyarsky's Chip was spotted within the patch, and for the fans who have not dug too deep around the franchise, an explanation is in order.

According to Cinema Blend, Boyarsky's Chip was cordially derived from the renowned Leonard Boyarsky that worked on both Diablo and Fallout and despite the fact that both games are from different developers, the twist was rather intriguing to the fans of either one or both. In definition, the chip can be inserted into a piece of jewelry that has a socket wherein it adds 30,000 Thorns to taunt the first enemy to be struck while in battle.

The description of the item's history was said to be the biggest giveaway of all, as it stated, "This fragment of a gem, called a chip, was discovered in an underground vault by old man Boyarsky, who fashioned it into the beautiful gem it is today. It damages those who would damage its owner, and once inserted into a socket, it will never fall out."

It was in a manner speculated upon that it was intentional to have the said Easter Egg seen within the same period that Fallout 4 was released, whilst others think that it was plain coincidence and must not be taken too deep. Regardless of whichever, Diablo III remains as a title that should be looked after, and perhaps in the near future, more of such will emerge.
