The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is now available for preorder for countries other than China through a retailer known as "GearBest". UK, US and India are on the list of countries that can order the device either in a silver, gray or gold variant.
The going price that GearBest offers for the Mi Pad 2 16 GB is a comfortable tag of $242 or £161, according to International Business Times. The online retailer also guarantees that worldwide shipping will be free and can be delivered to the new tablet owner's doorstep within three to five working days.
The "Apple of China," Xiaomi, has created 2 variants for the Mi Pad 2 in terms of size as well: 16 GB and 64 GB configurations. Tech Times notes the tablet having features like a 7.9-inch display and a pixel count of 1,536 x 2,048. The pixel density is approximately 324 pixels per inch.
The device is fuelled by a 6,190 man battery that allegedly gives up to 12.5 hours of battery life even while using heavily like viewing videos. The graphics of the Mi Pad 2 relies on an Intel HD GPU. The back side camera is an 8 megapixel shooter and the front camera a 5 megapixel one. Connections can be done via USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The 2.24 GHz Atom chipset is paired with 2 GB in RAM. Yibada further shares that the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is unique in that it can run either an Android or a Windows 10 Mobile operating system, depending on the preference of the owner of the device, given that both firmwares run on Intel.
Users are comparing the device with the iPad Mini 4, saying that the Mi Pad 2 is a cheaper contemporary of the world favorite amongst the smaller tablets. The edge that Mi Pad 2 has over the Apple mini tablet is the much more affordable price, the original being around 999 yuan, and the ability to choose between a Windows and an Android OS.
