Latest reports have indicated that the newest wearable by Apple, The Apple Watch 2, is close to ready and will be hitting the market by 2nd quarter of 2016.
The first Apple Watch was announced last September 2014, and started shipping in April of 2015, so there is reason to believe that Apple will use the same period for the launch to give the first gen more time to travel through markets.
A report shared by WT Vox claims that the Apple Watch 2 could most probably sport the same look as the first version of the watch, carrying the same rectangular screen, resolution and body. So for the time being, Apple fans will have to wait to see a circular version of the Apple Watch.
Daze Info also states that the Apple Watch 2 is expected to sport a front-facing video camera to allow front FaceTime calls. The device also includes some upgraded wireless capabilities that removes the need for a Bluetooth connection to an iPhone to receive calls on the Watch 2 via a wireless chip, much like the latest Airdrop.
According to Mac World, there is reason to believe that Apple will be partnering with another big brand for the launch of a line of Apple Watches the way the company did with Hermes back in September. The logical belief would be that Apple might do it with Nike, whom the company has worked with before.
The Apple Watch could also be powered by the same A9 chipset that powers the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The current wearable runs on a S1 processor, built with the same 28 nanometer process as the chip in the iPhone 5S.
There are also reports that Apple is partnering with LG and Samsung to produce thinner OLED displays for the Watch 2, and will be moving to improve battery life for the Apple Watch as well.
