Motorola released a new sibling of the Moto 360, the Moto 360 Sport, aimed at health-conscious customers. According to Tech Radar, the Moto 360 Sport will launch first in France and the UK on December 18. It will be available on those markets at a price of £219. It will then come to US stores on January 7 at the price of $299.
ChicagoInno of Streetwise Media news site named the Moto 360 Sport as the best fitness smartwatch yet. It has specs and fitness features that can be considered superior to existing smartwatches.
It was reported that the Moto 360 Sport features a built-in GPS, unlike the Apple Watch and other Moto 360s. The GPS will provide an accurate measurement of running distance, pace, and speed.
The Moto 360 Sport boasts a new technology called "AnyLight display" which allows the watch to be used under any lighting environment. Motorola said that it is the first hybrid screen which switches between two modes to provide the best user experience in light and dark environments.
Additionally, the Moto 360 Sport smartwatch has the same circular style as the Moto 360. It supports wireless charging and it can be synced with a smartphone for maximum usage. PC Advisor reported that the Moto 360 Sport is compatible with iPhones running iOS 8.2 and up.
Motorola equipped the Moto 360 Sport with Android Wear OS and a 300mAh battery similar to that of the Moto 360. However, the smartwatch is said to have poor battery life. It was reported that the Moto 360 Sport only lasts one day compared to other smartwatches that have 2 to 3 days of battery life.
The Moto 360 Sport comes in three color choices: black, white, and flame orange. Users can also listen to music on the smartwatch during runs.
