It seems easier for television networks to adapt an already familiar material and the trend has been noticeable for 2015. Fox is on the revival trend and currently working out for the small screen release is Sylvester Stallone's iconic Rambo: New Blood.

The Hollywood Reporter recently published the movie to television modification of Rambo: New Blood. Fox studios has made agreements and closed the deal with executive producer and Rambo himself, Sylvester Stallone. The franchise will be written by Jeb Stuart who is well-known for Die Hard. Entertainment One and Avi Lerner's Millennium Films will also be involved as producers for the small screen adaptation of the movie. The development of Rambo as a television series has caused the previously-reported fifth film, Rambo: Last Blood, on hold.

According to The Wrap, Fox's Rambo: New Blood will center on the relationship of John Rambo and son J.R who is an ex-Navy SEAL. New Blood will take off from the story arc of First Blood, from David Morell's novel, which was released in 1982 to the big screen. Rambo: New Blood is given an hour by Fox to unfold the story of of John and J.R Rambo. There are no details yet as to who will play the main characters.

Deadline teased that the story arc will evolve mainly around son J.R. Rambo. But John Rambo, played by Sylvester Stallone in the movie version, will have a crucial role in the development of J.R's character, hinting the potential frequent appearance of the actor, or possibly as a mainstay cast. However, some news suggested that Stallone prefers to stay behind the camera.

Stallone is also reportedly considering a television adaptation for The Expandables, however, with totally different cast and story arc departing from the movie version.

Rambo: New Blood has no official premiere dates yet but news surfaceed that it could be release sometime in Autumn 2016 on Fox.
