Star Wars Battlefront has been receiving positive response from critics lately, especially with DICE's amazing job in crafting the audio and visual aesthetics of the Electronic Arts-published game. However, many players are also criticizing Star Wars Battlefront as it doesn't offer enough depth for hardcore shooter fans.
At the Nasdaq Investor Conference in Europe, EA's Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen, stated that the Star Wars Battlefront was intentionally made to be "accessible," reported Gamnesia. Jorgensen said, "Star Wars Battlefront is a first-person shooter, but it is [one of] the only teen-rated first-person shooters. We had designed it to be a much more accessible product to a wide age group. So, an 8-year-old could play with his father on the couch, as well as a teenager or 20-year-old could play the game and enjoy it."
Aside from this, there were also some people who were complaining that Star Wars Battlefront lacked having a single player campaign. At the recently held Credit Suisse 19th Annual Technology, Media & Telecom Conference, EA COO Peter Moore defended their offering of Star Wars Battlefront. He claimed that it's not only a multi-player game, but it has a lot of single player opportunities within it, reported Attack of the Fanboy.
"Let's be clear though, there are a lot of single player opportunities within the game. It's lacking a campaign mode in the eyes of gamers, but it's got co-op, couch play...it's not a purely multiplayer game. There is more content coming to this game, which will deepen the content," Moore said, as quoted by Examiner.
According to Moore, DICE decided not to include a single player campaign to concentrate alone on the multiplayer. But he also noted that a single player campaign could be featured in future games in the series.
EA and DICE have a large cache of DLC planned for release by 2016. They are kicking things off with The Battle of Jakku, which is coming to Star Wars Battlefront on Tuesday. Those who pre-ordered the game and got the code can go now and redeem that code on their respective system and play The Battle of Jakku based maps. The Jakku maps will be also be downloadable for free starting next week.
