The Force is strong with the game for the success of its recently held beta testing. Positive fan feedbacks have boost shipments beyond the original projection, adjusting to 13 million copies for distribution.
The game's original projection is a shipment of 9 to 10 million copies. However, the results have exceeded expectations as positive fan feedback spread fast with the game's beta testing and boosted the orders. This prompted EA and DICE to adjust the shipment to 13 million copies. The game's full year revenue forecast was also improved to 50 million USD, setting a new target of 4.5 billion USD. Star Wars Battlefront is the biggest game release of the year, as commented by Latin Post. The game's Beta testing had made 9.5 million players logged with a total of 1.6 billion minutes of playtime. Such also yielded 5.9 million spawns from Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker alike, 13 million force choke kills, 783,000 Imperial Walkers destroyed, and 293 million E-11 blaster kills.
With the game's positive reception, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen expects an 80/20 split for shipments between the first quarter and the upcoming fourth quarter which ends in March 31. Gamespot reports that the 9.5 million participants across Xbox One, PS4 and PC platforms had been the largest number in Electronic Arts' beta testing history.
On the other hand, the game's Season Pass was also announced during the game's open beta. Dual Shockers reported that the Star Wars Battlefront: Ultimate Edition will be offered, which includes all the contents of the Digital Deluxe Edition plus the game's Season Pass. The Season Pass is available for 49.99 USD which offers a two week early access to the four paid expansions and an exclusive "Shot First" emote as bonus. The expansions include new contents and new locations to be explored.
