The much awaited CyanogenMod 12.1 OS update for the Yu Yuphoria is now out and owners of the handset can now get it over-the-air.

In a Tweet by Micromax founder, Rahul Sharma, he announced that the CyanogenMod 12.1 OS update is currently on a roll out path, says International Business Times. The YU Yuphoria firmware update comes with new functionalities that include:

• Revamped Launcher. App Drawer and Folders are revamped, thereby making these custom-made for one-handed use.
• LiveDisplay. A new smart screen feature claimed to intelligently adjust the smartphone's screen as per current environmental conditions.
• Calendar integrated to email. Users can easily share their current availability, through this update, along with scheduling appointments in a hassle-free manner.
• Update AudioFX. The user interface has been update to have consistency across devices.
• Enhanced playback support. Codec compatibility for video and audio playback have been increased in this update.

According to Android Police, The YOG4PAS47N build is Android 5.1.1/Cyanogen OS 12. To get the update, users must have the latest version of the retail software, YNG1TBS2P2. A YU representative also adds that manually flashable fast boot files will be released, but only after the OTA roll out has been completed.

The Cyanogen OS 12.1 update for Yu Yuphoria, based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, follows the release of CM13, a custom ROM built based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Gadgets NDTV notes that the CM13 was made available for e OnePlus One (bacon), Nexus 7 (deb & flo), LG G4 (h815), Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (mondrianwifi), LG GPad 7.0 (v400 & v410), LG G3 Verizon (vs985), and Moto X 2014 (victara).

The Yu Yuphoria sports a 5-inch display protected by Gorilla Glass 3 with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU within a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset. The device launched out of the box with a CyanogenMod 12 OS, which was based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Other features include an 8 megapixel back camera, a 5 megapixel front shooter, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage with an expansion capability via a microSD card slot, and a 2230 man Li-Ion battery.
