iPhone 6c Release Date: Will 4-inch iPhone launch Spring 2016 with Apple Watch 2 or Fall 2016 with iPhone 7?

The iPhone 6c release date could happen in Spring 2016 along with the launch of the Apple Watch 2. However, some say that Apple will launch the 4-inch iPhone alongside the iPhone 7 in Fall 2016.

A report by iDigitalTimes confirmed that the iPhone 6c release date will be held in spring of 2016. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo confirmed the rumor himself. Kuo is known for making accurate Apple predictions including the making of a 4-inch iPhone.

Apple previously launched the Apple Watch in May 2015. It is believed that the iPhone 6c will be released alongside the Apple Watch 2 in Spring 2016.

However, Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray said that the iPhone 6c will arrive with the iPhone 7 in Fall 2016. According to Macworld, the 4-inch iPhone could be called the iPhone 7c when it launches on September next year.

The iPhone 6c could have an affordable price ranging from $400 to $500. The phone is expected to pack flagship features like Apple Pay and Touch ID. It is said to sport a premium metallic and glass build like the iPhone 5s.

Latin Post reported that the iPhone 6c could drive sales to the Apple market. According to a recent Piper Jaffray survey, 20% of US customers prefer a 4-inch iPhone rather than the 4.7-inch or 5.5-inch variants.

"We believe that part of the reason that over 20 percent of smartphone users say they still prefer a 4-inch screen size is they still have older model iPhones," said Munster. "When they upgrade to a 4.7-inch screen with an only slightly bigger footprint in the pocket, we expect those users would be converts to the larger screen size."

Kuo made another claim, saying that the iPhone 6c will house an A9 processor found in the iPhone 6s. However, other experts believe that the 4-inch iPhone will instead have an A8 processor similar to that of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
