Apple's smartphone series holds a great global market share. But now it is pondering over introducing another iPhone gadget, iPhone 6c.
According to BGR, news came into hearing from multiple sources about Apple, introducing a new 4-inch smartphone at some point in 2016. The new Apple gadget is coming with an iPhone 5s successor, a 4-inch display, a beautiful metal design, and components that make it equivalence to iPhone 6 series.
A new China report reveals that the 4-inched iPhone 6c is destined to be launched next year, but as the iPhone 7c, which will make it position in Apple's 2016 family of handsets.
China's iPhone-related rumors provider Tech blog M.I.C Gadget and sources from Foxconn's suppliers reports that Apple plans to launch an iPhone 7c next year. The phone, anticipated to be unveiled in early 2016 will have a 4-inch display and a metal rear shell according to the site.
The shift to iPhone 7 next year has been taken as a surprise as the company is launching iPhone 7c several months ahead of the arrival of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus flagships. Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the iPhone will also include NFC, Apple Pay, and an iPhone 6-like design, complete with 2.5D glass.
A couple of months ago, it was rumored that iPhone 6c will be launched along with the iPhone 6s, but that plan did not work out, as reported by IBN Live. Tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also described the phone, which is anticipated to come with same camera resolution as the iPhone 5s i.e, an 8-megapixel iSight camera and a 1.2-megapixel front.
It also might include the latest A9 chip. Moreover, two to three color options will be available in metal case of the iPhone. The KSG Securities analyst expects Apple to respond to the demand of approximately 15 million to 17 million 4-inch iPhones shipped in 2015.
The global market price of an iPhone 6c is quite low, that is from $400 to $500, which is up to $249 less than iPhone 6s. With the support of the integration of Near Field Communication technology and a percent of the global market share of Android, the low price of emerging iPhone will increase its possibility of adoption.
Ming-Chi Kuo's also predicted the upcoming release of Cupertino's adoption of fingerprint sensors, the larger iPad Pro, and two sizes for the Apple Watch.
Earlier this year, a patent granted to Apple described its water resistant capacity due to the hydrophobic coating of the iPhone, a way of keeping the device safe from water damage, as reported by Waltonian.
The iPhone 6C launch date could overlap the Apple Watch 2 release date if the information is correct.
Mr. Kuo said, "Our fiscal 2016 iPhone estimate now calls for 4% unit growth, including 5% growth in the December quarter, a flat March quarter, and mid-single-digit growth in the second half of fiscal 2016. In order to make the current iOS 9 or next-generation iOS 10 run smoothly, Apple may adopt an A9 chip for this new phone". With a 4-inch model, Apple can get back on track on the tablet sales too."
