Playstation VR Price and Specs: Announcement Coming Next Year

By

Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Worldwide Studios President, promised early this week that the company will announce pricing and launch date for the Playstation VR early next year.

According to Christian Today, Yoshida indicated that Sony Entertainment would give announcements as per specific details of the upcoming virtual reality gaming console for the Playstation, including the selling price and launch date of the device.

While the Sony President was not specific about anything, he did acknowledge that "people are looking forward to know, other than playing VR games, what they can do with PS VR when they purchase it," says Playstation Lifestyle. It's also rumoured that the Playstation VR will provide support of services like Netflix and Twitch, but gamers will have to wait for the official announcement to be made next year.

Sony also shared eight games that will be launching with Playstation VR or formerly known as "Project Morpheus," during its second annual PlayStation Experience event in San Francisco including Rez Infinite, Golem, Ace Combat 7, Job Simulator, and more, says Tech Times.

Fans were disappointed to see that GTA was not in the line up, but that's not to say that the Playstation team won't be launching the titles with the device, as it is too early to tell. At the Playstation event, it was also revealed that Playstation had two big moves for 2016: first is the announcement of the virtual reality headset, and second is streaming PlayStation games.

The Sony Playstation VR is set to kick off next year together with Facebook's Oculus Rift headset. Sony has also given hints that, pricing-wise, the headset will be priced much like any other gaming console would be priced, which leaves a lot of hints as to how much the VR headset will actually sell for.

It is widely accepted that the Playstation VR will be available by first half of next year.
