Chrome users receive an added protection when browsing because of the safe browsing that is set to default. It includes protection against malware, phishing attacks, and cyber security threats. This update is available for Android mobile users.
The Verge mentioned that such added protection can be seen in the privacy section of the Chrome's settings. To be specific, users can go to Privacy menu to check if safe browsing is enabled. Further, safe browsing will also be available in Google Play Services 8.1 and other in-house apps and services in future.
In addition, NDTV reported that the new update is offered in Chrome 46 and onward versions. Mobile users will see a bright red webpage indicating that the clicked URL is dangerous. This will allow users to be warned prior to downloading any unwanted software (UwS) in their devices. Google has done this to be able to respond to the growing security attacks in the web.
In another report of the update in Google Chrome, Tech Times noted the statement of Google in its blog talking about the urgency of keeping its users protected when browsing. The statement said, "We hunt badness on the Internet so that you don't discover it the hard way, and our protection should never be an undue burden on your networking costs or your device's battery." It added that since the world relies on the mobile web, Google would like to ensure safe and efficient browsing for everyone.
For users who do not have the latest version for the new feature, they can just upgrade it to Chrome 46 and onward versions. More updates of security protection for web users will be available in the future as cybersecurity attacks grow. Indeed, the update from Google for safe browsing entails that the company adds value to its customers. Google Chrome now contains Safe Browsing by default for Android
