Grace and Frankie Season 2 Returns Early 2016: Netflix Renews Series for Season 3

Netflix's Golden Globe contender Grace and Frankie renewed for third season while still awaiting the official release date of Season 2.

Netflix is reportedly satisfied with Grace and Frankie's accomplishment especially after Lily Tomlin received nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in Golden Globe last May. The network is very much delighted that prior to the release of Season 2, Netflix announced Grace and Frankie is extended for the third installment, Entertainment Weekly released. The comedy series is to return for third season with 13 hilarious episodes.

Grace and Frankie mark the beginning of friendship between avowed enemies Grace Hanson and Frankie Bergstein, characterized by Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin respectively, when their husbands Robert Hanson (Martin Sheen) and Sol Bergstein (Sam Waterston) decided to divorce their wives to be with each other. Grace and Frankie who became frenemies have only each other to comfort and support sharing the heartbreaks they have so and move on with their lives.

Grace and Frankie are created by Friends' Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris and debuted in Netflix on 8 May 2015. Only few days after the online streaming release, Netflix announced the show's renewal for second season.

Until now, Netflix has no announcement yet for the release of Grace and Frankie Season 2. Kauffman thanked Netflix and Miley Cyrus, who plugged the show in tweeter two weeks after the premiere of Season 1, for the continued support of viewers,TV Fanatic posted.

Indiewire recently claimed while Season 2's release date is still unpublished but pre-production for Season 3 has already begun. Grace and Frankie is commented as top rated drama series for the online streaming company but Netflix have not published viewership ratings for the series.

Grace and Frankie Season 2 will air sometime early in 2016 while Grace and Frankie Season 3 is reported to premiere in 2017 on Netflix.
