LG is set to release the LG G5 as their next flagship device which could be released during the first quarter of 2016. It is also expected to house sophisticated new features, and could be the basiss of the upcoming Nexus 7 2016.
As reported by Expert Reviews, rumors claim that the new mobile device will be released in February next year to coincide with the Mobile World Congress which will be held in Barcelona. The release of the new handset is also speculated to put it head to head against Samsung's Galaxy G7.
LG G5 will be the next flagship device of the South Korean company which is heavily speculated to be released with sophisticated features. According to Christian Post, the new handset is rumored to feature 5.6-inch QHD resolution IPS LCD display, with 1440x2560 pixels screen resolution.
Under the hood, it is speculated to feature 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, at least 3GB of RAM, and a battery of at least 3000 to 3500mAh. It is also rumored to have enhanced camera specs with a back camera sporting a 1/2" sensor with 20 to 21MP and an 8MP for the front facing shooter. The device is also rumored to sport the new iris scanner for security support while the finger print scanner is also possible.
Furthermore, as reported by Yibada, rumor mill is at work suggesting that Google might choose to partner with LG once again for the release of their next Nexus phone. Previous partnerships between the two resulted to the Nexus 4 in 2012, Nexus 5 in 2013, and Nexus 5X in 2015.
An Android senior executive also previously stated that working with LG Engineers were what Android personnel look forward to. Thus, if Google chooses LG for their next flagship, the design of the next handset could be inspired by the LG G5 as it has been a pattern for LG to use their flagship devices as base-model for their next device.
If the LG G5's release in February proves to be true, it could be an unusual step for the company which usually launched their products during the second quarter of the year. More details about the new handset will be reported as they are revealed.
