Motorola has officially announced the official release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software to Moto X Pure Edition devices of AT&T, after reports that only three mobile carriers in the United States have confirmed their support for the software to the device. The carrier is said to be ready for the roll out of the Marshmallow build before 2015 ends.
AT&T is expected to roll out the official over-the-air (OTA) upgrade of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its Moto X Pure Edition devices. Motorola has announced that only Sprint, Verizon Wireless and US Cellular have confirmed their support for the upgrade. However, AT&T being one of the largest telecom companies in the US is psyched for the rollout of the new build.
In fact, a user commenter on a mobile tech site named Joseph G. has revealed that Moto X Pure Edition is currently getting it. There is no confirmation straight from Motorola yet. Thus, the said rollout might only mean a test for some devices as it usually happens when a new software upgrade is set for release.
A post from Gotta Be Mobile stated that the upgrade will come "soon" as the final testing phase commenced a few weeks ago. In November, Motorola was confirmed testing Moto X Pure Edition with Android 6.0 Marshmallow to evaluate the performance of the new build on the device.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring in a host of new features and improvements to Moto X Pure Edition. This includes a redesigned app drawer and an OC status bar.
The app drawer now has the search bar placed on top of it for easy scouring of apps and data on the device. The drawer also now operates on a vertical manner.
Meanwhile, the status bar becomes free from clutter. Experience extra convenience with the status bar by clearing it up from unnecessary icons. Idle apps here can now be automatically removed. To do this, go to Settings > About phone. Tap the About phone seven times then proceed to Developer Options.
