How thankful can you be when you are still given the chance to live after staring death in the face three times? A scary thought that happened to Leonardo DiCaprio.
Actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, is the cover of WIRED Magazine to be issued in January 2016. There, he opened up on how he survived the 3 tragedies he met. DiCaprio's stated in Wired, "If a cat has nine lives, I think I've used a few."
The first tragedy was in South Africa, where he was attacked by a great white shark while he was diving. A great white jumped into his cage while launching tuna into the water, half of its body landed into his cage. According to leo "The great white took about five or six snaps an arm's length away from my head." All he tried to do is to lie flat in the cage so that shark would not reach him.
The second time was during his flight to Russia in business class, and the engine exploded in front of his eyes like a comet. He was just sitting in shock while looking at the entire wing exploding like a fireball. "They shut all the engines off for a couple of minutes, so you're just sitting there gliding with absolutely no sound, and nobody in the plane was saying anything." Leo said, "It was a surreal experience and it is crazy."
The third time was a skydiving incident, a tandem dive that almost lost their lives in that moment. They pulled the first chute but the man with him cut it free, a reason for them to have a landfall for about 5-10 seconds not thinking that they still have one extra chute to pull off but still it is knotted. All he ever thought in that moment was they were like "plumetting to death."
With all these terrifying and unreal experiences of him, he only said, "I think I survive because I don't limit myself. If there's some experience I want to have or a place I want to go, I do it. I think that's how I bring some semblance of normality to my life."
