Recent speculations surrounding the MacBook Air 2016 and MacBook Pro 2016 suggest that both devices could be released several months apart from each other next year. However, it is also possible to be introduced during the upcoming March event where several other Apple products are expected to be released.
As reported by International Business Times, it is possible for the Cupertino firm to hold an event in March where several products will be announced. Aside from the fact that the previous MacBook with Retina display was launched last March, the company also usually launch new devices during Spring, thus, the March event could happen.
Other products rumored to be released during the first quarter event are the next Apple Watch, the 4-inch Apple iPhone 6C as well as the the successor of iPad Air 2 (2014) dubbed as iPad Air 3.
There are also rumors suggesting that the 2016 MacBook Air will be launched during the March 2016 event and will be released months later. As for the 2016 MacBook Pro, its speculated launch date is sometime in June 2016 which will give it enough space apart from the 2016 MacBook Air.
Also the prices for several MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops have reached their lowest discounted price which could be a sign of a forthcoming release of a new batch. As reported by Yibada, the prices of different variants of 13-inch MacBook Air are currently sold from $769 to $1,099 depending on its features and specs in the Apple-centric commerce website Apple Insider.
The website is also selling different variants of 13-inch MacBook Pro with price ranging from $12,99 to $1,729 depending on the specs. 15-inch MacBook Pros are also available from $1.699 to $2,099.
Meanwhile, several rumored specs of the two gadgets have surfaced online. As reported by Telegraph Times, MacBook Air 2016 is rumored to be released with intel's latest Skylake processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 graphics card. It is also speculated to be released with slimmer design which would be made possible through redesigning of its internal components.
The MacBook Pro 2016 is also rumored to have the same features as the MacBook Air 20160 but with higher RAM and longer battery life. However, it is worth noting that Apple has not released official details about the device, thus, current information should be treated with a grain of salt.
