The GoPro Hero 5 was expected to hit the market October this year, but unfortunately it didn't happen. Now, there are talks stating that this much-awaited Hero camera will be unveiled in 2016 alongside the upcoming GoPro Drone.
Parent Herald recently reported that the release of the GoPro Hero 5 is expected this year, but the date has been postponed to 2016. This is reportedly to give way for the company to make the product an exceptional action camera. The Hero 5's presence may have been missed this holiday and there are still no information if the camera will arrive this year. The year is almost coming to a close and the GoPro Inc. hasn't uttered anything about it yet.
Moreover, Christian Today cited some of the features that might be seen in the GoPro Hero 5. This sports camera is expected to be a better version of the Hero 4 with major updates and upgrades to its specs. One of the highlights that is anticipated from the Hero 5 is its capability to shoot stunning videos while underwater.
The waterproof feature of the upcoming Hero series is reported to undergo a major update, allowing the camera to go as far as 60 meters underwater. For diving purposes, the GoPro Hero 5 may also include special camera housing.
It was additionally mentioned in the some reports that the upcoming device should be able to shoot 8K videos and is slated to be a lot smaller and lighter compared to its predecessor. This would definitely make Hero 5 an impressive action camera for all thrill-seekers since it will be more convenient to bring along.
Crossmap added that there is still no official news from the company regarding the release of the GoPro Hero 5 but it did announce the upcoming GoPro Drone. This device has been unveiled around the middle of the year, but even then, it still did not have an official name and was simply called GoPro Drone.
Recently, the official name of the GoPro Drone has been revealed and it will be called: Karma.
As usual, GoPro Inc. remains mum and hasn't disclosed anything about the Karma's features and specs and the same goes to the GoPro Hero 5. Until the company give all the specifics and confirmation about the said devices, fans will have to rely on these speculations.
