Reddit is currently working on its availability in Android for users who resort to third party apps. The company is on the process of testing the application that involves few thousand people through an online survey. Reddit is hoping that it will maintain its stability and freedom from bug before its official release.

Android users normally use third party apps like Sync for Reddit, Reddit is Fun, BaconReader for Reddit and Relay for Reddit, however, the company recently announced that users are no longer necessary to use such apps. Tech Crunch noted the official statement of the product manager of Reddit in terms of its availability in Android platform. The manager said, "As many of you know, the team here has been working hard to bring our official native Reddit app to Android for a while now." The official added that redditors are encouraged to participate in the beta to provide the feedback and help identify nasty bugs.

Slash Gear mentioned that users who would like to be involved in the test have until December 18, at 11:00 a.m. PST to sign up. Completing the range of questions in the survey does not guarantee a spot to participate in the trial. This is for few Android users only until the application will be fully available after a successful test.

Further, it is not yet clear on how Android app will differ from Alien Beta with regards to features or designs, according to the report. It is known that Reddit acquired Alien Beta in late 2014. Nevertheless, the company hopes that everything will be accomplished according to the plan. On the other hand, Tech Crunch noted that there is no final date yet on when will the Reddit be released in Android.

It will be a relief for Android users who use third party apps for Reddit. Though, as of the moment, users will need to wait for further announcement from the company for the release date of the app.
