Pokken Tournament New Official Controller Discussed; Possible Release Date in March 2016

By

Pokken Tournament by Bandai Namco has consistently raised the hype bar to new heights as it approaches its designated release date. That being said, a new bit of information looks to make things quite more interesting for the Pokemon-Tekken crossover as Nintendo does is part in it as well.

According to Yibada, the much-anticipated Pokken Tournament has currently been noted of being compatible to the Wii U, which of course, many fans have become certainly excited over. More news became rampant that though it arrived to the said platform, it will have its own controller allocated especially for the said game, and many have seen the distinct design of the new hardware.

Delivered by Slash Gear, Pokken Tournament is given a new wired controller that resembles the conventional gaming controller most players are used to. One difference to note, however, is that the design lacks the analog sticks that usually aids in movement and other related attributes. Many agree though, that those who are dedicated fighting game patrons need less these controls, as they rely mainly on directional pads to maneuver smoothly.

Geek noted that the controller may not look like much-especially that it is not equipped with the big touchscreen right in the middle which can be remembered of being in the standard Wii U GamePad. Definitively, the controller is only given such buttons as A, B, X, Y being the action buttons, two common shoulder buttons and the ever-reliable D-pad as many call it. One purpose of such would be the adaptability of the game to be entirely close to the original as much as possible.

In terms of release, Pokken Tournament will arrive in the US within 2016 as many have anticipated. The catch, however, is that the game may be available by then, but the particular controller for the game may not be accessible yet for the time being.

The Japanese release date for Pokken Tournament is March 18th, and because of the said mark, the North American territories will most likely receive their share close to the date. Stay tuned for more updates on the said title by Bandai Namco.
