Sony has just released latest flagship Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact in the USA and shipment began in time. Making the products available in the US markets, Sony has kept its promise for a February 7th release date.

Both the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact are now available for sale in unlocked mode through Amazon, Best Buy, B&H and other online sites. The Xperia Z5 has been priced for $599 while its smaller cousin Z5 Compact for $499, reports Engadget.

Initially, Amazon is offering the International version with no warranty service for the US consumers. Meanwhile, Best Buy's website is displaying only the Z5 Compact, B&H announces to sell all the current US models, reports Android Police.

The Xperia Z5 incorporates a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, 23MP/5MP cameras and a 2900 mAh battery crammed into a 7.3mm frame. Other features include a 5.2-inch 1080p display that exhibits things simple and the phone manageable, according to a report published in the Android Authority.

However, Z5 Compact is differentiated with a 4.6-inch display and 2GB of RAM, 23MP/5MP cameras, a 2700 mAh battery and a Snapdragon 810 processor. The battery is placed in an 8.9 mm frame offering a slightly thicker in appearance and the screen resolution has been fixed at 720p.

Both are assumed to function nicely on AT&T, T-Mobile and other American networks sharing their frequencies. The duo are now available in black, but a gold Z5 and coral Z5 Compact is expected to become available in 2-5 weeks.

Neither the US oriented smart phone models feature the fingerprint reader built under the power button as available in some international models. This negative feature is believed to shave Sony's profit margin a little bit considering the top tier price of the devices.

The negative feature won't affect those too much using Android 5.1. But it may be a matter for both the Z5 variant immensely for the consumers using Android 6.0 due to requisite support for finger based authentication.

Sony is yet to reveal any information on launching of Z5 Premium to the US market. The electronics giant hasn't also mentioned of carrier specific models since the GSM version Xperia smart phones won't be supported by Sprint or Verizon.

Sony has made Xperia Z5 and Z5 compact available in all the major ecommerce sites just on its committed schedule. The smart phones, available only with black, bear price tags of $599 and $499 respectively. Though the Z5 variants posseses some limitations, the high price tier products have already attained the flagship status from the perspective of Sony.
