Catbird, an IT company that develops security solutions software for cloud data centers, said it closed another US $10 million in investment from Medina Capital. Medina earlier invested US $2 million into Catbird, the company said.
The money will be used to enhance Catbird's sales and marketing promotions, as well as to perfect its software in order to maintain its hold as the market leader. Catbird's main product is vSecurity, designed to secure cloud-based data centers. Apart from the fund, Medina will also provide some advice to Catbird on how to streamline its operations, generate sales leads and product development.
Manuel D. Medina, founder of Medina Capital, is very optimistic about growing its investment in Catbird since software-defined security will supplant computer appliances in the next five years for data center security.
"The combination of Catbird's leading-edge technology, its team and the market opportunity made for a highly-attractive investment," he said.
Medina Capital, meanwhile, is an equity investment company dedicated to the IT sector.
