Elon Musk recently revealed that his company Neuralink's brain chip has successfully restored sight to blind monkeys, as first reported by The Independent.
With this groundbreaking result, Musk sets his eyes on curing blindness. Neuralink's upcoming product, "Blindsight," will soon be available to provide vision to individuals who have lost sight entirely.
This development follows their earlier product, "Telepathy," which enables users to control computers solely with their thoughts. Interestingly, this first of Elon Musk's Neuralink brain chips was successful.
In fact, VCPost reported that the first recipient was already able to play chess using only his thoughts. Musk called him the "first human computer" for doing so.

How Elon Musk's Neuralink Brain Chip Will Cure Blindness
Now, according to Musk, the Blindsight system is already operational in monkeys, though initial resolution levels may resemble early Nintendo graphics.
However, Elon Musk envisions the potential for the brain chip to surpass normal human vision in the future.
Unfortunately, not a lot was looking forward to Elon Musk curing blindness as Neuralink faced criticism from regulators and animal rights groups over its treatment of experimental subjects.
Addressing concerns regarding animal welfare, Musk emphasized that no monkeys have suffered fatal injuries from Neuralink's devices. The first human patient of Telepathy also has no recorded injuries as well.
