Elon Musk recently said he was done voting for the Democratic Party and that the US desperately needs a "red wave" to save the country.

According to Business Insider, the tech billionaire revealed on his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that the US is done unless the Republican Party prevails in this year's elections.

"I voted 100% Dem until a few years ago. Now, I think we need a red wave or America is toast," Musk wrote in a post on X on Sunday.

Why Elon Musk Does Not Like Joe Biden

Elon Musk has criticized President Joe Biden's and the Democratic Party's handling of several issues, including the Southern border crisis and the Democrats being "controlled" by the labor unions.

The X owner is not vocal about who will get his vote in the 2024 presidential election. However, last November, he said he did not see himself voting for Biden, whom he voted in 2020.

"I think I would not vote for Biden... I am not saying I would vote for Trump but I mean... this is definitely a difficult choice here," Musk said during a 90-minute appearance at the New York Times DealBook Summit.

Musk admitted that his issue with Biden stemmed from the White House not including Tesla in an event on electric vehicles that it hosted several months after Biden took office.

The Tesla CEO also recalled that Biden even added "insult to injury" by praising General Motors for leading the "electric car revolution."

Will Elon Musk Vote for Donald Trump?

Although Elon Musk has revealed his distaste toward Joe Biden, he has not yet endorsed the president's rival, former President Donald Trump.

Musk has admitted to meeting Trump in Florida on March 3 but said it was not planned and that the former president did not ask him to contribute to his campaign.

According to Musk, Trump dominated the conversation, but the former president made no significant revelations or requests during their interaction.

When Don Lemon asked him during a recent interview if he would donate money to either candidate for US president, Musk said he had yet to decide who he might endorse among the presidential candidates "in the final stretch." However, he added with a laugh, "I'm leaning away from Biden."
