An 81-year-old man from Ohio named William Brock has been charged with murder. He confessed to shooting an Uber driver who became a victim of a scam organized by deceitful callers.
A tragic incident occurred in South Charleston on March 25, at approximately 11:25 am, resulting in the unfortunate death of Lo-Letha M Hall, a 61-year-old Uber delivery driver.

Brock revealed to authorities that he had been receiving threatening phone calls from scammers demanding money in the weeks before the incident.
A disturbing video has surfaced showing an incident in which Brock allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot an Uber driver, resulting in her tragic death.
A dash cam footage showed a chilling encounter between Hall and Brock. The incident took place on March 25 around 11:20 a.m., as Brock approached Hall's car brandishing a gun, according to WKEF.
As she attempted to enter her vehicle and leave, Brock reportedly engaged in a physical altercation with her and fatally shot her.
According to the Clark County Sheriff's Office, the driver received instructions through the Uber app to pick up a package for delivery from Brock's home. It is believed that the instructions came from the same person or an accomplice.
Upon her arrival, it is claimed that Brock forcefully insisted that the woman, who was unarmed, disclose the identity of the individual who had reached out to her. He then proceeded to seize her phone, effectively preventing her from departing.
"Give me that phone!" he exclaimed in the distressing video.
"Stop! Stop or I'll call 911!" Hall responds loudly to Brock.

According to officials, he proceeded to shoot the woman three times before contacting 911. According to reports, Brock informed the dispatcher that he had fired at an individual who was allegedly attempting to rob him.
Hall was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by first responders, but unfortunately, she passed away during surgery, as reported by WKEF.
The sheriff's office spokesperson said that Hall, who was unarmed and dealing with medical conditions, did not pose any threats or make any demands towards Brock. Her inquiry was only about the package she was sent to retrieve through the Uber App.
According to Clevland.com, Brock, who sustained head injuries during the altercation, is currently in custody on a $200,000 bond after entering a not-guilty plea last week in Clark County Municipal Court.
According to officials, the account responsible for the Uber trip in question has been banned and authorities are currently investigating the shooting incident.
